Free Employment Law Posters!

Public Service Announcement!

Don't let poster vendors convince you that the only way for you to get compliant employment law posters is to pay for them! There are poster vendors out there who do this. If you’re reading this, you’re probably on some of those unscrupulous poster vendors’ email lists. You should unsubscribe immediately from any poster vendor who lies to you like this.

These EEO posters are free and fully compliant with federal EEO law: https://www.eeoc.gov/employers/eeo-law-poster

As are these posters for laws administered by the U.S. Department of Labor:  https://www.dol.gov/general/topics/posters

You can get all the other posters the various federal and state laws require you to have for free too, at the websites for the agencies that administer the law. (If anyone knows of any employment law-related poster that you can't get for free, please feel free to correct me!)

I'm not saying finding and printing each required poster is right for you or your company. There's some work involved. I'm guessing maybe 2-3 hours or so of someone's time. And another couple hours for each additional state your company has employees in. (Again, if anyone has done this and wants to call BS on my time estimate, please let me know and I’ll make a public confession!) And a bunch of individual printed posters won't look as pretty on your break room wall as one nice, big, all-in-one poster.

Then again, maybe you don’t have a break room anymore, at least not one that is ever used. Maybe you need to figure out how you’re going to comply with your posting obligations with a virtual (or partly virtual) workforce.

Things to consider. But you have options. I’m happy to help you think through what’s best for your company.

But no, I don't sell posters.
